My Approach
I believe that every dog deserves to feel safe, understood, and respected as an individual. My practice is grounded in kind, evidence-based behaviour and training methods that support both dogs and their guardians in everyday life.
At the heart of my approach is the understanding that behaviour is never “just behaviour.” It is communication. I look at the emotions, environment, and experiences that shape how a dog responds to the world, so we can understand the why behind what we see. When we understand the reason, real change becomes possible.
Many dogs today have very little control over their own choices. Their routines, environments, social interactions, and activities are largely directed by humans. This lack of autonomy can deeply affect their emotional wellbeing and behaviour. Because of this, I place a strong focus on creating more freedom, choice, and opportunities for dogs to express natural behaviours. When dogs are supported in this way, they begin to feel safer, more confident, and more able to cope.
Autonomy is a core welfare need. My role is to support this need while helping guardians to understand their dogs with patience, clarity, and compassion. Together, we can make practical and positive changes that reduce stress and help those behaviours improve over time, while strengthening the relationship on both sides.
I use kind, reward-based methods that are grounded in behavioural science and informed by emotional understanding. My work is not only about teaching skills, but about helping dogs feel safe in a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming and helping guardians feel confident and better able to understand their dog.
Supporting dogs and empowering guardians is at the centre of everything I do. Lasting behaviour change comes from understanding, consistency, relationship, and allowing dogs the freedom to be themselves.
